Paris Jackson is opening up about her childhood and living with her dad Michael Jackson to Oprah Winfrey in a new interview that will be aired on her OWN network. Paris says that it wasn’t until recently that she understood why her father made her and her brothers wear masks everywhere they went. She explains:

“I was really confused. I didn’t get why I was wearing a mask. But I understand it now – why my dad would want our face to be covered. When we went out without him we wouldn’t be recognized.”

She also added that she had a normal childhood and that one of her favorite places to go was Chuck E Cheese with her brothers. She says:

“He told us that when he was younger he didn’t really have a childhood,” says Paris. “He would always be stuck in the studio singing while the kids were out playing. He wanted us to have that. “
