Charlie Sheen is busy giving interviews to promote the premiere of his new FX show, ‘Anger Management,’ is also opening up about his past struggles with addiction. The former ‘Two and a Half Men‘ star says he doesn’t use drugs but still drinks alcohol. One thing he shared is that rehab is not for him.
“I don’t believe in rehab anymore. It’s not for me. It’s not for everyone. It’s not a one-size-fits-all and it didn’t fit me. We live in a country where it’s always Miller Time so what are you going to do? It’s happy hour somewhere in the world.”
Does happy hour have to include drinking? Binge drinking is associated with dementia in older adults, so Charlie might want to slow down. That being said, Charlie’s functioning well enough to star in a TV show, so he’s doing something right. He plays a therapist in ‘Anger Management’ and admits he’s regretted some of his own outbursts in the past, including against ‘Two and a Half Men’ creator Chuck Lorre.
“The key for me would have been the advice I got when I was in anger management myself for a year and that is you can always leave the room. It is odd to look at some of the clips and some of the stuff and think, ‘Wow that was me, that was me. Wow.’ It’s a crazy character study on some level that will hopefully be valuable in the future.”
I have to say, I think I’ll be checking out Charlie in ‘Anger Management.’ Will you?
