Katie Holmesand Suri ventured out for the first time together since Katie filed for divorce from Tom Cruise last Friday. The two enjoyed a sweet treat together when they went to get some ice cream last night. The mother-daughter duo also stopped by Whole Foods for some things for a 4th of July barbecue. A reporter asked Katie how she was doing.

Katie and Suri certainly look happy! It looks like Katie’s shielding Suri from all the divorce drama. Hopefully she (and Tom) will be able to continue doing that, no matter how hostile things get during this divorce.
