As we previously reported, Mariah is “in serious talks” to join the reality smash. Though an actual deal has yet to be inked, according to Mariah’s hubby Nick Cannon, Idol may have to shell out A LOT of cash to get the singer to sign on the dotted line.
“I don’t know if they can afford Mariah Carey,” said Nick to TMZ. “That’s a lot of money. If they gave J-Lo $20 million, they might have to double that!”
Even if Mariah passes on Idol, she won’t be sitting at home twiddling her thumbs. Apart from taking care of her adorable twins, the “We Belong Together” songstress tweeted that she’s back in the studio working on a new album with producer Rodney Jerkins.
“In the studio with RJ-yeaah, having a nice time! (sic)”
No matter what Mariah’s future holds, it sounds like she has plenty to keep her busy!
