Tom Cruise Buying NYC Pad

I guess Katie Holmes got their NYC apartment in their divorce settlement. But Tom Cruise still won’t have a hard time visiting Suri: he’s planning on buying another place there. This will make it easier for Tom to visit Suri regularly. A source told the Post:
“Tom’s looking for a new home here. He wants a fresh start. He doesn’t want to go back to the East Village apartment where he was living with Katie. He’s looking for something that’s very private where he won’t have to deal with going through a lobby, and people outside all the time.”
Smart move on Tom’s part! People say a lot of things about Tom: some good, some bad. Yet no one questions his devotion as a parent. It’s great that he is doing what’s necessary to still be a part of Suri’s life. For a lot of (or at least some) fathers, it’s easier to just focus on rebuilding their own lives and see their kids when its convenient. Tom clearly isn’t taking that route. Good for him!

I don’t think it’s fair to compare Tom’s ability as a father to buy a new multi million dollar place to be near his daughter to other fathers who maypole do the same in a heart beat but do the bet they can with what the resources they have to be there for their kids. It’s not alway do cut and dry and there ate two sides to every story. BTW there are some ‘moms’ (and I use the term loosely) with or without financial and other resources etc who don’t invest as much time or effort to living up to their role a a parent. Let’s not generalize single dads as a group or put all single moms on a pedestal.
