Mariah’s reportedly going to earn $18 million for one year of judging on ‘American Idol.’ I can see where that price was right to join the show! An ‘American Idol’ insider claims this makes Mariah the highest paid music contest judge in history.
Mariah’s ‘American Idol’ predecessor, Jennifer Lopez, earned $12 million for last year. Christina Aguilera reportedly is paid $10 million for ‘The Voice.’ Britney Spears, meanwhile, is making $16 million for ‘X Factor.’ All of these ladies are earning A LOT: good for them! Mariah said about her new hosting job:
“As a singer, songwriter and producer, it’s going to be fun and rewarding to help find new talent and give back to American Idol. I’m currently in the studio working on my new album and its first single, ‘Triumphant,’ which will be out early next month. I can’t wait to channel my creative energy as a part of this show which is a massive global phenomenon.”
