Katie Holmes did an interview with C Magazine one day before filing for divorce from Tom Cruise. We’ve heard about hints that things may not have been well from her Elle interview. A C Magazine senior editor said this:

“Going back over the tapes, there were signs: Holmes was certainly very aware of herself, laying a couple cards on the table but never showing her whole hand. Most noticeably, the one name decisively absent from her lexicon: Tom Cruise. She never actually refers to him by name over pages and pages of transcription.”

When asked if having Suri had brought her and Tom closer, Katie said:

“I don’t know. I mean. . . I don’t know. People have been having babies a long time.”

 

Hmmm… As for future plans, Katie told C she wanted “more challenging roles.”

“I feel like I worked so much at such a young age that I really wanted to have life experiences. I feel more balanced and like I have more to bring to the table. I always felt like I wanted to catch up [in my personal life] to what I was doing [in my career].”

So it sounds like Katie feels she’s in a good, balanced place both personally and professionally. What an awkward time to give an interview: a day before you’re going to file for divorce! I guess it was easier than trying to do an interview after the divorce filing.

Kate Gosselin said a couple of months ago that her kids miss being on TV. Apparently, so does Kate. Kate misses it so much she’s ready to do something very personal- search for Mr. Right. On TV. A source told E! News:

“She is ready to get back into the dating game. She is ready to find love again and to move on from her past. She’s excited, this is a chance to start something new. She finds it hard to meet men in her day to day life, and so a dating show will give her exactly the help she needs. She is willing to travel around the country in order to meet Mr. Right.

“She looks fantastic, and she’s in a really great space. She’s in fantastic shape because of all her marathon training, this feels like the right time for her.”

I don’t know if dating on TV is the way to find real love: how many ‘Bachelor’ and ‘Bachelorette’ contestants has it worked out for? But with eight kids, I’m sure the income from reality TV would be helpful for Kate. At least this idea leaves her kids out of the spotlight. Have you been following this crazy story with the Jackson family? First it comes out that Janet Jackson doesn’t want Paris Jackson acting because it goes against what Paris’ father, Michael Jackson, would have wanted. (This makes sense to me.) Then Paris starts tweeting that her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, is missing, and another family member files a missing person’s report with the LA Sheriff Department.

Jermaine Jackson took to twitter to say that Katherine was okay, just resting in Arizona on doctor’s orders (although not her regular doctor’s orders). Several of Katherine’s children had written a letter to the executors of Michael’s estate demanding their resignation, in part because they were causing Katherine so much stress she allegedly suffered a mini-stroke, which Katherine’s attorney later denied.  Paris tweeted she hasn’t been allowed to speak to her grandmother in over a week.

Yesterday things came to a head when Jermaine, Janet and Randy showed up at Katherine’s home (where the kids are). Attorneys for the kids claim Jermaine, Janet and Randy “ambushed” Prince, Paris, and Blanket, running up to them “as they yelled and began to aggressively grab at the cell phones in their hands.” They reportedly tried to get the kids to come with them to Arizona, but the kids refused. Security forced Jermaine, Janet, and Randy to leave.

Now the executors reportedly are moving to get guardianship of Prince, Paris, and Blanket after moving them to a secret location. They reportedly feel responsible for the kids since the kids are the main beneficiaries of the estate. TMZ and Radar Online both report all of these actions are attempts to get control of the estate. I feel SO badly for Prince, Paris, and Blanket. With all these actions, you can see why Micheal left all of his siblings out of his will (Katherine and his kids are the beneficiaries).

Nick Cannon was onto something when he said ‘American Idol’ may not be able to afford to pay Mariah Carey enough as a judge. Mariah’s reportedly going to earn $18 million for one year of judging on ‘American Idol.’ I can see where that price was right to join the show! An ‘American Idol’ insider claims this makes Mariah the highest paid music contest judge in history.

Mariah’s ‘American Idol’ predecessor, Jennifer Lopez, earned $12 million for last year. Christina Aguilera reportedly is paid $10 million for ‘The Voice.’ Britney Spears, meanwhile, is making $16 million for ‘X Factor.’ All of these ladies are earning A LOT: good for them! Mariah said about her new hosting job:

“As a singer, songwriter and producer, it’s going to be fun and rewarding to help find new talent and give back to American Idol. I’m currently in the studio working on my new album and its first single, ‘Triumphant,’ which will be out early next month. I can’t wait to channel my creative energy as a part of this show which is a massive global phenomenon.”

Can’t wait to see Mariah judging on ‘American Idol’!

We know Rihanna’s been vacationing in Europe for the past week or so. When I saw the pictures of Chris Brown in the French Riviera, I wondered if the two would meet up. According to this story, Rihanna and Chris are indeed vacationing together in the South of France. A source told The Sun:

“Chris is staying on the yacht next to Rihanna’s. He’s got rappers Swizz Beatz and Ludacris with him and they’ve decided to film a music video too. It was a last-minute trip, but Chris wanted to see Rihanna. They have this weird addiction to each other and can’t seem to stay away.”

“She was really happy when he arrived. She spent all evening getting ready to see him. They waited till night so no one saw them. She went to his yacht, which they moved to a secluded bay. They’ve been through a lot, but still have strong feelings for each other.”

Chris reportedly was motivated to visit Rihanna when he heard rapper Drake was joining Rihanna in France. IF this story is true, hopefully Drake just stays away. There’s no need for more fighting! I don’t know if this story is true or not, but sadly, I wouldn’t be surprised. I think I’m going to guess Fact. What do you think: Fact or Fiction?

Hmm, where in the world was Justin Bieber jetting off to this time? On July 23, the “Boyfriend” crooner caught a flight out of LAX. After making his way past the security checkpoint, the Biebs headed to straight to his gate.

Justin had quite the eventful weekend. Not only did his longtime gal pal celebrate her 20th birthday, but he (along with the rest of young Hollywood), scored big at the annual Teen Choice Awards!
