So Wrong: Dane Cook Cracks Jokes About The Aurora Shootings
Posted on July 27, 2012 at 4:30 PM
This is just so wrong on so many accounts. Comedian Dane Cook must have gotten a kick out of the Aurora, Colorado shootings in which several people passed away and were injured when James Holmes opened fire inside a movie theater during a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises.” The funny man (can we really say that?) poked fun at the situation during one of his recent stand-up routines. Here’s what he said:
“So I heard that the guy came into the theater about 25 minutes into the movie … And I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie, but the movie is pretty much a piece of crap … yeah, spoiler alert.”
Dane continued … “I know that if none of that would have happened, pretty sure that somebody in that theater, about 25 minutes in, realizing it was a piece of crap, was probably like ‘ugh f*cking shoot me.’”
Some people in the crowd laughed … some people groaned. Tell us, do you think it was inappropriate for Dane to be cracking jokes about the tragedy only one week after it happened? It’s totally wrong if you ask me!

He’s a butt hole. Tragic situations are nothing to joke about. He’s a moron.
He used to be funny. When his parents died something changed and he became really abusive and dark in his “comedy”. He was silly and inappropriate before, now he’s not even approaching funny.
