Sources connected with “Idol” tell TMZ … Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge’s panel. Choosing Nicki would not only crush that expectation, it would add insult to injury because Nicki (29) is a lot younger than Mariah (42).
I sincerely HOPE this is fiction. Why should it matter if Mariah is the only woman or Nicki is younger than her? As a judge, wouldn’t Mariah’s experience mean more? Whether or not Nicki becomes a judge isn’t the only thing ‘American Idol’ producers are working on.
They reportedly aren’t sure about the composition of the judging table. If two women are judges, for some reason there can’t just be one other guy (who may or may not be Randy Jackson), so two men will be needed if two women are judges. What?!
Also, if Nicki, Mariah, and Randy were the three judges, ‘American Idol’ reportedly is worried that with three African American judges, “middle America might not welcome the blackout,” as TMZ writes. Seriously?! Is the year 2012 or 1812? Do you think all of this is Fact or Fiction? I’m afraid to guess!
Maybe Nicki Minaj isn’t going to join ‘American Idol‘ as a judge after all. TMZ claims when Mariah Carey (who’s already signed on to be a judge for next season) was told Nicki was the top candidate to join her at the judges’ table, Mariah Hung Up The Phone.
