tracy anderson criticizes pregnant women who gain too much weight

Tracy Anderson is a popular celebrity trainer. She’s whipped the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna into shape after giving birth (Tracy’s also worked with Lady Gaga and Jennifer Aniston). Now Tracy is showing off her own post-baby body: she gave birth to a daughter, Penelope, last May, and is showing off a svelte body six weeks later. Tracy said:

“A lot of women use pregnancy as an excuse to let their bodies go, and that’s the worst thing. I’ve seen so many women who come to me right after (having children) with disaster bodies that have gone through hell, or they come to me years later and say, ‘Oh, my body is like this because I had three kids.’”

Tracy said she kept her pregnancy weight gain to 30 pounds with Penelope, but she knows what it’s like. When she was pregnant with her son Sam in 1998, she gained 60 pounds by eating “milkshakes and hot dogs.” That’s what most women experience- LOL. Tracy admitted she’s still working to get back to her pre-pregnancy shape.

“For 13 years I’ve been jumping around, dancing at such high levels all over the world and with no sleep for multiple hours a day. I thought, ‘Please, I can bust out an hour of dance aerobics, no problem.’ Wrong! I know that the journey of getting back to your best level of performance physically is very hard, but it’s an incredibly empowering place to be.”

Tracy doesn’t sound like she’s being too judgmental: she’s been there herself! Do you think she has a point or is she being too rough on women who focus on things besides their weight while pregnant?

  1. Shes right Too many woman use ‘Im pregnant as an excuse to eat junk, when in actuality its the time to eat the most healthy you can. A healthy weight gain during pregnancy is 25-30. Eating for two is a myth. you only need extra calories in the last trimester, and even then only a few hundred a day more. What you eat when pregnant literally builds your child. and studies show the sort of food a mother eats when pregnant affects a childs lifetime, ie mother eats junkfood, the child is more likely to have obesity problems, and struggle their whole livves with weight problems.
Not to mention, pregnancy is the hardest thing a womans body can go through, and gaining 40lb plus is actually DANGEROUS. it puts a HUGE strain on cardiac and renal systems and can actually place the mothers life at risk.
