Mariah Carey is still the only confirmed judge for the upcoming season of ‘American Idol.’ When she arrived on a flight to LA, Mariah was asked about the whole judging situation. Paparazzi asked about rumors of tension between herself and possible new judge Nicki Minaj. Mariah said:

“What tension? There’s no tension!”

When asked who Mariah would like to join her on the judges panel, Mariah responded:

“I’d answer that, but I’m not quite sure how.”

Then a paparazzo asked Mariah how she’d feel about judging solo.

“Naturally … why not?”

Why not, indeed? LOL! I suspect ‘American Idol’ is going to wait until ‘The Voice’ and ‘X Factor’ premiere and then announce who will be joining Mariah at the judging table. Why compete for attention during the pre-season promos?
