Randy Jackson WILL be back as a judge, not a mentor, on ‘American Idol‘ after all! He’s gonna “keep it real” at the judges’ table. Deadline reports Randy closed the deal to return as a judge after negotiations with Enrique Iglesias didn’t work out.

Sources indicate that the reasons to move away from Iglesias, who had been in negotiations for the gig, were not strictly financial.

TMZ claims Randy wasn’t happy with the plan for him to become a mentor, so he’s probably happy about the development!
