Halle Berry and daughter Nahla pray together every night. It sounds like they’re continuing to pray for the same thing! Halle said:
“We pray to God, so sweet. She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure. The other one, we’ve got to keep praying on.’ What do you say to her when she wants that and can’t understand why God’s taken so long?”
Halle, who’s 46 and had Nahla when she was 41, said she’s glad she waited to have children.
“I’m a much better mother at 46 – or 41, when I had her – than if I were like 21 or 25. I mean I was just a little baby just trying to figure it out – trying to figure out who I was, let alone having the responsibility of trying to help another little soul develop and grow. I’m so glad I waited.”
Halle explained the reason she wants to move Nahla to France (against her father, Gabriel Aubry’s, wishes).
“She’s just a little kid, and I just want her to be a little kid, and have normalcy and be like everybody else. As her mom, that’s my job — to provide her with that, you know? It’s frustrating when you feel like you can’t.”
I can understand that, but does she have to go all the way to France for that? Halle also dished on wedding plans (she’s waiting until her custody case is resolved to marry Olivier Martinez).
“I do know it will be very small. I haven’t been to many weddings, but I went to one this weekend with 250 guests. I thought, ‘Wow – so this is a wedding, huh?’ I’ve never had that, nor have I wanted that.”
I’ve always heard big weddings are ultimately a waste, but I think it’s easier to say that once you’ve had one- LOL.
