Katy Perry wasn’t just a guest at the 2012 Trevor Live event. She was honored with an award! Katy received the Trevor Hero Award for her work with the LGBT community. When Katy accepted the award onstage, she  said:

 ”Thank you so much for this incredibly humbling award and this honor. I’m really proud to be honored by the Trevor Project as a Trevor Hero. Honestly though, I think we all know that the real heroes are the folks at the call centers. I got to meet them the other day and they took me through the process and it was incredibly inspiring. I asked many questions and learned many things.

“The organization has educated me so much. I grew up in a very intolerant environment and for a long time I was told that people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) were an abomination. But when I started to ask questions it was hard to find an answer which made rational sense from the bubble around me. As I’ve grown up I’ve freed myself from that mindset. Coming from where I came from, I never thought that the LGBTQ community would be so intricately woven into my everyday life.”

Good for Katy for being open to hearing different ideas and ways of life as an adult! Hopefully others will follow her example and be open to educating themselves, regardless of what they learned in the past.

So the baby rumors that popped up last month are true! The former Kate Middleton, now Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is pregnant. The palace released the following statement:

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.

“The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.”

Hyperemesis Gravidarum is extreme nausea that can lead to dehydration and weight loss (i.e., really bad morning sickness). I’m sorry to hear it’s so bad the duchess had to be hospitalized; hopefully they can get it under control quickly. Exciting news, though: congratulations! Can Not WAIT to see her maternity style.

Olivier Martinez is no longer interested in pursuing criminal charges against Gabriel Aubry after their Thanksgiving day brawl. A source said:

“Olivier informed the LAPD and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office that he was no longer interested in pursuing criminal charges against Aubry.

“The LAPD had turned the case over to the Attorney’s Office to determine if any charges should be filed. However, since the complaining witness has subsequently indicated he doesn’t want to proceed, it is likely the case is dead on arrival.

“Aubry and Berry worked out a confidential settlement last week that included specific language about how none of the parties – Halle, Gabe or Olivier – would pursue criminal charges against the another. All sides managed to agree to satisfactory terms with the focus being on ending the mayhem for the sake of Halle and Gabriel’s daughter Nahla.”

It sounds like the LAPD wasn’t recommending criminal charges be filed anyway, and given Gabriel’s claims that Olivier instigated the fight coupled with his injuries, this is probably for the best. I’m glad they were all able to be adults and settle this without getting drawn into another long, drawn-out court battle!

The traffic in London must be seriously bad! Tom Cruise, who is there to shoot his movie ‘All You Need is a Kill,’ reportedly has hired a helicopter to fly him around the city. And no, we’re not talking about the helicopter used in the movie for film scenes. The Sun newspaper says Tom has hired a “limited edition” helicopter to get him around the city. It’s described as:

 a “living room in the sky” and it boasts cream leather interior and noise-minimizing walls to guarantee a quiet flight.

Well, maybe Tom is staying outside of the city to avoid the paparazzi? The paps are pretty bad in London. With him and Katie Holmes recently finalizing a divorce, he just may not want to put up with all the attention, so he’s staying outside of the city. That’s the only reason I can think of for Tom to need to hire a helicopter for transportation. It sounds like a great helicopter!

Uh-oh. Things are REALLY looking bad for Lindsay Lohan. The IRS has just seized her bank accounts over unpaid taxes. OMG! The IRS had filed tax liens against Lindsay for 2009 and 2010. Charlie Sheen was very generous and cut her a check for $100,000 to help with her tax debt, but even that didn’t cover it all. TMZ reports:

Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ, she’s in full-on panic mode about her financial situation, and is desperately trying to make some cash to get out of the red.

How is Lindsay going to pay her attorneys to represent her in all these criminal charges if the IRS has seized all of her bank accounts? Hopefully she had something put away in an account that didn’t have her name on it. I can’t help but feel badly for her. I’d be hyperventilating if this happened to me!
