Julianne Hough rocked an edgy look for her Cosmopolitan cover! Cosmo may be known as a light, fun, and, above all, sexy, magazine, but Julianne’s interview with them was actually very serious. In her new movie, ‘Safe Haven,’ Julianne’s character is abused. It turns out she had real-life experience to draw from.

On her time in the UK as a child where she studied dance at London’s prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Arts: “I was 10 years old looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer. I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy facade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl. I wanted so much love.”

With her parents an ocean away, Hough says the adults around her took advantage. “While I was in London, I was abused, mentally, physically, everything,” she says. In what way or by whom exactly, she declines to say: “I’m a very forgiving person, and I don’t want to hurt anybody. What’s past is past.” A ripple of tension tightens a face that is always so relaxed and bright, like a sheet being pulled tight. It got worse, she says, “when I started hitting puberty, when I started becoming a woman and stopped being a little girl.”

On not speaking much about the situation prior to now: “This is the farthest I’ve ever gotten into my London situation. I was told if I ever went back to the United States, three things were going to happen. One: I was going to amount to nothing. Two: I was going to work at Whataburger. And three: I was going to end up a s*ut. So, it was like, I can’t go back. I have to be this person.”

What a nightmarish situation! This is why parents are so scared to send their kids away. It’s horrible Julianne had to experience that. Kim Kardashian may be set to net a cool $16 million from endorsement deals related to her pregnancy, but none of that money will be coming from Jenny Craig or Medifast. Both companies tell TMZ they aren’t interested in signing Kim on to help her lose her baby weight after she welcomes baby Kimye. Why?

Medifast said it’s not looking for any celeb endorsements — but Jenny Craig was more specific, telling us they’re … focusing on “real results for real women” this year.

Interestingly, JC’s rep added, “We will continue our working relationship with Mariah Carey.”

Kind of ironic that Jenny Craig would pass on a reality TV personality for “real women,” don’t you think? Kim could still be signed up with Quick Trim, so it may be a moot point.

If Kim is looking to make some money shedding her baby weight, she might want to try Nutrisystem. Haven’t seen much of Janet Jackson and Nutrisystem, so that may be Kim’s best bet. Weight Watchers seems to be happy with Jessica Simpson (and in addition to Jessica, they’re still working with Jennifer Hudson).

Food Network star Paula Deen is known for her southern dishes. They exemplify southern cooking- sticks of butter and deep frying and all. Paula took some heat when she revealed she’d been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes (as part of her deal to promote a diabetes medication), but now she’s dishing on how she lost 36 pounds and keeping the weight off.

“It’s all about moderation. I just needed to learn to eat a normal portion size and not overindulge.”

It sounds SO easy- LOL. Honestly, you only have to watch Paula add those sticks of butter when she’s cooking to know you can NOT eat that way every day! The Food Network star said she does still indulge in her fried chicken and grandmother’s pound cake.

“It’s amazing how little changes will give you big results.”

Which is why Paula refuses to go fat-free. She prefers other techniques, like eating more slowly.

“In my refrigerator, there’s no light mayonnaise. I’d rather eat less of the real thing and have it taste really good than have diet stuff that tastes awful. Putting my fork down and having a conversation has been a huge help. Because it takes 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain that you’re full.”

Bethenny Frankel announced she and husband Jason Hoppy were splitting after nearly three years of marriage right before Christmas. Some early reports indicated Bethenny and Jason may have taken time off to see if they could make their marriage work, but a source tells People a reconciliation “is out of the question.” So what went wrong? A “friend” spills the beans.

“There was no one turning point that caused this… they tried to make it work. It just got too hard to be husband and wife.

“With Bethenny, it was her way or the highway. If you are a person who surrounds yourself with people telling you, ‘You are right; we will bend over backwards to make things happen for you,’ you will have a tough time in marriage. Marriage doesn’t work that way.”

That’s the truth! Although they’ve decided to split, Bethenny and Jason both are said to be having a hard time. Jason was spotted out still wearing his wedding band this past weekend. As for Bethenny:

“Bethenny is devastated. The split has been tough. You go into a marriage thinking it’s going to be forever. When you realize it’s not, it’s really hard – especially when a child is involved.”

I’ll “out” myself right now: I haven’t seen any episodes of ‘Bethenny Ever After.’ If you did, and saw these two struggling, then did you see this outcome?

Victoria Beckham is raising a little fashionista (and it’s not baby Harper- not yet)! Romeo Beckham has made his modeling debut for Burberry. We saw the print ads in December. Now here’s Romeo in first Burberry commercial.

You have to admit, Romeo’s got style. But then, what else would you expect from the child of David and Victoria Beckham? Something tells me this is only the start of a career for Romeo in fashion. I wonder if we’ll see him on the runway with his mother soon? Or perhaps he’ll get involved in a kids line for Victoria. Give him a couple of years: I see it ALL happening!

Actually, I don’t know why I ask that question in the title. Lindsay Lohan is getting paid $100,000 to party because people will pay big bucks to party alongside her. They’re hoping to get ringside seats to the latest trainwreck! Really, it’s sad. But I guess now we know how Lindsay is financing this trip across the pond. Brunei’s Prince Haji Abdul Azim reportedly paid Lindsay $100,000 to ring in the New Year at his party. A source said:

“Prince Azim not only flew her out; he put her up in a beautiful suite in the Dorchester for the weekend and following the party. Her mom, Dina, is also in London with her at the hotel and attended the party.”

Now THAT make sense. Apparently the Southeast Asian prince throws extravagant bashes. Every year he throws a NYE party in the 10,300 square foot ballroom at the Mayfair. Guests receive gift bags that include diamonds and high-tech gadgets.

“He rents the ballroom and does this for his amusement. He rents the ballroom and pays stars to show up. Lindsay went because she’s that desperate for a paycheck.”

Lindsay’s mother, Dina, is there in London with her. Her father, Michael, had this response when he was told:

“Now she’s getting paid for dates?”
