‘New Girl‘ star Zooey Deschanel got to show off her glamorous side for Glamour magazine! This are some great shots, don’t you think? Zooey also sat down for an interview with the mag. Here’s some of what she said:

On the success of New Girl and making the jump from movies to television: “I’m just going where the material is. Some of the smartest people run the network I’m on. People sometimes say, “Oh, you were a movie star,” and I’m like, “No, I was a supporting actress.” I wasn’t an A-list actress, and I’m fine with that. I’m proud of what I did in film. But getting to do the stuff that I was passionate about was such an uphill battle. If New Girl had been a movie, I don’t know whether I would have been given the opportunity to do it.”

On whether she considers her hair to be part of her “brand”: “This business is all about branding! But I’ve never been like, “Let’s calculate an image.” I’m just, “I like that. Let’s do that.” I grew up loving French New Wave movies, and so a lot of what I like is that style. It’s just about doing what you like so that when you look at yourself, you’re not disgusted. And I’m all about unintentional. I’m not a calculated person…. Somebody asked me, “How did you start doing comedy?” and I was like, “By being unintentionally funny.” I think making a movie or a record, the best things happen by accident—and those end up being the magic. Every time I’ve followed my gut it’s been better than when I’ve tried to do what I was supposed to do.”

On being seen as an oddly controversial figure to some women and her critics: “I’m just being myself. There is not an ounce of me that believes any of that crap that they say. We can’t be feminine and be feminists and be successful? I want to be a f–king feminist and wear a f–king Peter Pan collar. So f–king what?”

On if she feels pressure to look a certain way: “I don’t. But actresses have definitely gotten thinner over the course of my lifetime. Women I admired growing up— Debra Winger, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep—were all beautiful and thin, but not too thin. There are a lot of actresses who are unhealthy-skinny—much, much too skinny. You can’t Pilates to that. I’m a very small person, and if I lost 15 pounds, I’d look like them; it’s scary. For young girls, what does that say? You need to look this way to be successful? That’s not true. You do not need to look or be anorexic to be successful in Hollywood. The range of what’s acceptable is larger than what people believe.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt nearly got all of their kids together for a family boat ride. The only one missing of their six kids was Knox. Knox reportedly refused to get out of a box. Apparently, he’s not a fan of the water. Josie Neal, Brad’s niece, spent the holidays with the family in Turks and Caicos and shared that detail as well as some others on twitter. Pax reportedly told Josie:

“Santa is dead to me” -pax (the 9year-old) #where #is #the#christmas #spirt?? (sic)”

Shiloh, however, was in the holiday spirit. She joined in on a treasure hunt, even though it was supposed to be “bro fun.” Brad and Angie hosted more than 22 members of their families at Donna Karan’s island retreat (where they also were said to have 12 nannies on hand- two for each child). It also sounds like the perfect opportunity for the family wedding Brad was talking about…

One of the reasons Kim Kardashian supposedly wanted a baby with Kanye West was to help “cement her and Kanye’s brand,” so it makes sense that she’s looking to make some serious coin off of her pregnancy! Kim reportedly is already in talks to start sponsoring baby products and have camera crews accompany her to her doctor’s appointments, etc.

“Kim is in talks with TV execs about filming the run-up to the birth – scans, hospital visits, everything. She could make $16 million from the pregnancy alone. She’s already been bombarded with tons of potential deals to endorse parental products.”

$16 MILLION: goodness! On one hand, this makes me feel really weird. Yet this is what Kim does: as a reality TV personality, she profits off of her life. A “source” claims what encouraged Kim and Kanye to have a baby was spending time around Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby daughter, Blue Ivy.

“It was actually Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy, who made them both broody. And despite reports Beyonce and Kim do not get on, she was one of the first to congratulate Kim and Kanye and is going to be invited to the mother of all baby showers in New York.”

Somehow, I believe the “cementing their brand” story more, I have to admit. Kim and Kanye will NEVER be Beyonce and Jay-Z. But it doesn’t mean the media isnt going to explode (like it’s currently doing) and Kim’s not going to make a pretty penny off this pregnancy. At least the baby will be secure financially!

Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana have split for the second time. ‘The Silver Linings Playbook‘ and ‘Star Trek‘ stars were set to spend the holidays together but decided to break things off before the holidays. A source said:

“Zoe had planned to spend the holidays with Bradley and his family in Europe. They all were going to Paris, but things didn’t work out between them. Zoe spent New Year’s Eve with friends in Miami. If Zoe was upset over the split with Bradley, she didn’t show it.”

Their busy careers are to blame for this second split. I can understand that: both Bradley and Zoe are in high demand right now! Bradley’s mother reportedly was eager for the two to settle down, so that may not have helped matters. Well, sometimes things just don’t work out.

Multihyphenate phenom Jennifer Lopez showed off her glamorous side for Harper’s Bazaar. LOVE these pictures from her photoshoot (the main pic is the newsstand cover; the picture in the gallery is the subscriber cover)! The actress-singer-dancer sat down with the magazine to talk about her life as a working mother, her flair for fashion, and her love of beauty.

On managing her “big” life: “I like the whole idea of traveling, of looking good, and doing it well. I make it as simple and as beautiful as I can because my life is kind of big. So I pack my luggage, or dress myself, or comb my kids’ hair, pick up their clothes—that makes our life beautiful, you know? There’s something very elegant in that.”

On her career: “I’m a singer. I’m a dancer. I’m a performer. I’m an actress. That’s what I’m supposed to be doing. It makes me a better parent, a better person.”

On the notoriously racy palm-print Versace she wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000: “I have that at home. The other day, my housekeeper put it on a mannequin in my spa, where I get my hair and makeup done. She sent me a picture. She was like, ‘You like this dress?’ Um, yeah, but I don’t know if I like it out in the house!” Her boyfriend, Casper Smart, pipes in: “But it’s famous! It’s the most famous dress you’ve ever worn.”

You have to give Jennifer credit: she’s honest. She’s not even trying for the whole “I’m just like you except I’m famous” routine that so many celebs seem to try to sell these days- LOL. Comedian D.L. Hughley was looking suave for the paparazzi! He arrived at LAX yesterday. D.L.’s been on a comedy tour, and the tour will continue through February, at least. So he probably needs to get a little R&R when he can.

But that didn’t mean D.L. wasn’t ready for the cameras when he stepped off his flight. The coat with the scarf looks great. It’s nothing elaborate or over-the-top. This guy’s got style, and that’s always HAWT!
