  • I Want To Interview You For My School Paper / Class etc…

Thank you SO much!! Here are some standard questions I’ve been asked. Anything else beyond this, do not hesitate to email me!

    :)

When did you start "I’m Not Obsessed?"
How did you come up with the idea? Why did you decide to create it?

I started INO in December of 2005 a few months after my first child was born. I became a stay at home mom and found the downtime unbearable. I tried several different ideas before landing on celebrity gossip. I needed something that would keep me interested, have a wide following, and provide fresh content on a daily basis.
Since then, it’s become a full time job. My husband stays home with the kids and I focus primarily on the site and expanding the brand.

Where did you go to school/what were your initial career plans? Did youalways want to pursue something along the lines of "I’m Not Obsessed?"

I went to SUNY Albany and graduated with a business degree (dual concentration of MIS and marketing). Never in a thousand years did I think I would start a gossip site. It was always my intention to work until I had children and then quit to be their mother. Always.
When I finally got around to reaching that dream, it just wasn’t what I thought.

Why do you think "I’m Not Obsessed" has become such a success?

  • Just Saw My Bloody Valentine 3-D

Besides the fact that I am madly in love with Jensen and have been since his time on Days on our Lives, this movie was worth its ticket price (which was $6 since it was a matinee). :) HE is my Edward… that’s for sure. But that’s not why I liked My Bloody Valentine.

It really left you second guessing yourself – over and over again.

BUT the best part was the 3D. I am REALLY excited about the movies right now!! I think this is a big first step. Eventually ALL movies will be made in 3D and it will just get better and better.

It was a lot of fun watching the film. The last movie I watched in 3D was Freddy and that was just terrible! :)

If you are a horror person, go with no expectations. You might surprise yourself.

  • New Madonna Outtakes For Hard Candy

Have you heard about the nude picture that is on the auctioning block showing Madonna… in a hairy light? Well, I JUST saw the picture and PROMISE you I won’t post it here, but a quick search online should bring up results if you are that kind of gal (or guy).

After seeing that black and white, these outtakes are absolutely lame in comparison! Too hard for me to shake the image and look at this set unbiasedly.

What do you think about the outtakes?

  • Finally Bought Another Crock Pot

Hubby has the children outside in the snow, and I just wrapped up stories until about 11:30, so I thought to get my personal post in since I MISSED last night’s write up. I can’t believe I forgot! But I watched The Real Housewives of the OC and just fell asleep on the couch.

Three days ago while in the middle of cooking, my can opener broke in HALF. Too much rust from putting it in the dish washer. Lesson learned. So I ran next door and borrowed my neighbor’s to complete the meal.

Then two days, mid meal I realized that once again I had no can opener. But when I called my friend this time, she wasn’t home! So I had to run out in the middle of cooking to the Dollar Store to get one to finish my chili.Linens and Things just closed by my house and I didn’t want to take the drive to Bed, Bath and Beyond.

SO yesterday, I finally made it to Bed, Bath and Beyond with a dozen 20% off coupons (yes, I have that many and more). I picked up a can opener and a crock pot (but a much cheaper version than the one I had). I become Santa when I go to that store – walking up to a variety of people making sure everyone has their 20% off. Seriously, I go with the intentions to give out as many as I can because it’s humanly impossible to use all the ones they send you.

While walking around I picked up a sinus mask and a cheesecake pan because… you know… I NEED those things.

But once I got to the line, I decided not to purchase them and just purchase what I came for. BIG STEP for me. In the end, the crock pot was under $30 with coupon which is about $100 less than my old one. I just hope it works!!

In other news, my weight keeps going up and down by a pound. Almost every day I go up and then back down to my goal weight. I don’t understand the fluctuation! It’s driving me crazy. I am not going to weigh myself today!! At least, I am going to try to hold out as much as I can.

  • Starting The New Year Off Right – My New Savings Plan

That’s not my receipt – but you are going to get where I am going soon enough.

Last night, hubby and I got to talking about 2009 and what we wanted to do as a couple. Losing weight (and maintaining it) is obviously on the list, but so is spending smarter. I am VERY free with my money – it’s BAD. I don’t mean I go out and buy designer clothing – I mean if I want a Starbucks (or three) I get it, or if my daughter throws a bunch of stuff in my cart, I buy it.

But now that I have to think about my kids’ future, it’s time to buckle down. So, we started out with a few "rules". First up is only one take out dinner a week (which works since I have to cook anyway being on Weight Watchers) and secondly – we promised to start clipping coupons.

This Sunday, I sat down with all the pamphlets, a pen and paper and got to work. Thankfully, we live in a town where every drug store and supermarket is available. So after some planning, we saved over $32! And you don’t understand what we purchased. Mind you, I am not going to do this every week because I now have like 4 tubes of toothpaste, 6 shampoos and conditioners, toilet paper to last us a lifetime etc. BUT I only bought things that we used and that were on sale AND that I had a coupon for. So it was a double whammy. Buy one get one free PLUS $1 off etc… Our pantry is now filled with all our beauty needs.

For example, we went to Walmart and used a $5 off coupon from the store and then $7 more in clipper coupons. My receipt bill was $26 and I received $12 off!!!!

CVS was a bit more – but that’s because they had a TON of Buy 1 Get 1 Free deals and 3 for $10 on the products I like. So I stocked up. But we saved about $20 there.

    I am so excited!!

I know it doesn’t sound like much – but every bit helps and I believe it can’t hurt right?! Small steps – one at a time. My mission is to save three times what we saved last year. It might happen… you never know.
