At first, these two seemed like such an odd friendship, but by now we're all used to seeing Britney Spears and Mel Gibson's names in the same sentence. Rumor has it that Mel actually wanted to hook Britney up with one of his twin sons. Edward, who had been in rehab for cocaine and alcohol problems, recently cleaned up his act and Mel thought the two could be good for each other.

"Mel felt Ed would be a great influence on Brit, and if the relationship turned into romance, all the better."

There was just one little problem. Britney wasn't that into the idea.

"She hid from them for most of the night. Mel and his son spent most of their evening talking to her bodyguards!"

And Mel just loves to help everybody he can.

"Mel's helped out other stars, such as Robert Downey Jr. -- and he'd love to see Britney do as well as Robert has."

 

Mel Gibson's son and Britney Spears...crazier things have happened.

In other Britney news, I just read a rumor that a world tour is in the works...doesn't she need a new album to promote first?

According to court documents (and Us Weekly), Britney Spears wants to move from her L.A. house to "a lower density, more quiet and less trafficked neighborhood,". Keeping her children in mind, she is searching for an area that will be "more accessible to parks and recreation areas".  Aren't we all?! That's one of the reasons why I moved where I did. When you have kids, your priorities change. It's nice to hear that Britney's have done so.

Britney Spears looked great as she was photographed exiting SUR in LA last night. Isn't it a little crazy how it looks like the paparazzi is in the car with her? I can't imagine the mob surrounding her vehicle.

After yesterdays talks with a mediator, Kevin Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told E! News,

"The mediation didn't result in an agreement that would avoid the trial set in August ... The mood was comfortable, positive and it was a mood that was consistent with opening at least a great dialogue, which is necessary."

Kaplan added that Kevin is seeking sole physical and legal custody of sons Preston and Jayden but wants Britney Spears to continue her current visitation terms. Britney was recently granted overnight visits with her two sons and Federline is more than happy to give the Britney not only more custody rights but the ability to be "involved in their lives in a very substantial and meaningful way".

"The trial in August is going to determine two primary issues," Kaplan said. "Custody and visitation, and attorneys' fees...In order to avoid the trial in all respects, there would have to be an agreement between the parties to resolve the attorneys' fees, and to put in place a custody arrangement that would carry forward...an expansion of the visitation."

Well I believe Britney is on the right track and I hope the better she gets the more involved she will be in her sons lives. Both her and Kevin seem to have their children's best interests in mind.

After spending time in court for the custody battle over her sons, Britney Spears dropped into the West Hollywood Fred Segal boutique. She exited to find a horde of photographers and several intrigued onlookers.

I can't find who owns the rights to these pictures. They aren't part of my three. So here is the link to check them out. How terrible! I guess Britney Spears still has some healing to do. She looks shaken up and unable to handle the swarm of paparazzi that are on the attack.

Reports are claiming that her bodyguards and some paparazzi got into a scuffle. A camera was shoved out of the way and cops were called in. A photographer claimed to have a bruise on his face, but no charges were made.  

So much for the 'Britney Spears is going to live in Louisiana with her family for a while' rumor. Here she is at LAX returning from visiting her younger sister and new niece, Maddie.

Even Jamie, Britney's father, accompanied his oldest daughter back home. I thought he would at least want to stay home with his new grandchild for a week or so. But everyone is back to business.

Larry Rudolph mentioned a few months ago that Britney Spears had gone back into the studio "Just for fun." Well, not so says her vocal producer Jim Beanz. Britney is recording her next album!

"Britney is amazing," Beanz tells Us.

The singer, 26, has had her share of drama, but "we never see anything but positives out of her.

"Everyone has personal stuff, but a true professional doesn't bring it into the studio," he adds.

I'm not going to lie, I loved a couple of the songs off of Blackout. Pop musicc is my guilty pleasure so I'm pretty excited for another Britney CD.

Do you think Britney will take this album seriously and do mega promotions like she didn't do for the last one? And most importantly, will you buy it?

Ps. Yes, that's a REALLY old photo.  I got a little bored with so many pictures of hair extensions and thought it would be fun to put something up from when she was on top of her game. :)

Britney Spears navigated the throngs of paparazzi at LAX for an early departure with her father Jamie and brother Bryan Wednesday morning. I’m assuming she got the call from Jamie Lynn and they’re flying to Louisiana. So does this mean the Jamie Lynn is all geared up to give birth? So nice that big sister Britney is going to be there by her side.

Oh and I absolutely love her sunglasses.
