Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo wants everyone to know that she doesn't regret the decision she made to dress down for her 2007 wedding. The actress wore a black Yves Saint Laurent dress and boots as she married record producer Christopher Ivery last year. Why you ask? Because Ellen gets dressed up on a day to day basis and really didn't think much of the experience. She tells Allure magazine,

"I get to dress up all the time. I completely understand women wanting a wedding, because most people don’t get to dress up in gorgeous dresses and have their hair and make-up done.

"I, however, am fortunate enough that I get to put on beautiful dresses and make-up and jewels all the time."

Ellen Pompeo quietly married Chris Ivery over the weekend People Magazine has confirmed.  Mayor Bloomberg served as a witness in the ceremony that was performed at City Hall. Congrats!!

Ellen Pompeo now officially has her own McDreamy: the Grey's Anatomy star and fiancé Chris Ivery married on Friday, her dad confirms to PEOPLE. "I'm very happy for her," Joseph Pompeo, of Everett, Mass., said Wednesday. "She just didn't want a big thing."

The ladies of Grey's Anatomy took to the streets to show their support to the writer's strike currently going on in Hollywood. Ellen Pompeo knows how to do old school glamour. Even though she went the opposite route of what seemed to be the trend of the evening, white dresses, she's still bound to make some best dressed lists in this get up. The all black could've been boring but she went the accessory route to spice things up...look at that necklace! I'm not much of a gold girl and I probably wouldn't ever wear something like that but I still think it's a pretty interesting piece of jewelry!  What do you think?

Ellen Pompeo is a gay rights advocate and credits her passion to the cause on her upbringing. Her mother died when she was very young and her sister (along with a few gay men) stepped up to raise her.

"I was raised by drag queens, practically... My mother died when I was four-years-old, so I was effectively raised by a bunch of different people. A lot of those people were friends of my sister, Kathleen, who had all these gay friends. She would babysit me everyday, and she would take me over to her friend's houses with all kinds of things going on: tucking, and eyebrow drawing, waxing, all sorts of things. I was literally raised by gay men."
