I paid a visit to a friend of mine who owns a shop in town while waiting for my daughter to come out of school this morning. We spoke for a bit and turns out Mike Comrie has just purchased a condo in Garden City, the town where I live.

Yesterday, Mike and Hilary Duff were spotted eating lunch at Walk Street Cafe on 7th street (steps away from the Islanders' new pad).

Can we say... stalker? My eyes are officially peeled!

The buzz is several other Islanders have also purchased housing in my neck of the woods. 

And for anybody who is following the political debate, in a few weeks both candidates are going to be in town staying at the Garden City Hotel for their upcoming Hofstra debate. To prep for their arrival, almost every street is practically being repaved!!

Us Weekly has a very interesting cover story this week. Hilary Duff, Taylor Swift and Lauren Conrad each confessed the body part they hate to dress. Everyone has one. Some have several! Here's the breakdown.

Lauren Conrad: "I'm always trying to hide my thighs, whether it's with a longer T-shirt or a skirt with a natural waist."

Hilary Duff:  "I'm always wearing scarves to de-accentuate my shoulders."

Taylor Swift: Skirts and jeans "have to be either low- or high-waisted. It can't be in the middle; I'm so tall [5-foot-11] it would make me look weird."

What's the part of your body you have to work extra hard on while dressing? Mine is most certainly the thigh region. 

Manolo Blahnik has always been popular with celebrities, but then Sex and the City literally made him a household name.  So it was nice to see stars like Lucy Liu, Nicky Hilton, Jennifer Coolidge and Hilary Duff come out to honor him at an event celebrating the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style award in honour of Manolo Blahnik. 

And of course, since this is a shoe party, I had to put in a few close ups of all the footwear on the red carpet! Which high heel is your favorite of the bunch?

Hilary Duff was looking cute and casual as she was photographed enjoying an afternoon shopping on Robertson Blvd yesterday in Los Angeles. Hilary is one of those women that look good no matter what. No make-up on the way to the gym, or all dressed up and reading for the red carpet... 

Hilary's closet is something I would love to take a peek into. The girl shops all the time! Or at least, that's the only time in her life when she is photographed these days. I know we don't know everything about these celebs. But 9 times out of 10, Hilary is coming out of a store with big bags in her hand filled with the latest. 

PS - speaking of shopping, my friend and I went shopping for a new wardrobe to fit her post-pregnancy body and did SO well at H&M. This season's clothing line is ON POINT. I don't always do so well at that store and for under $300, my friend is completely set! Just an FYI in case you were looking to do some cheap shopping. Their skinny jeans are amazing and are under $40!!

Hilary Duff left through the back entrance of Curve Boutique in West Hollywood with her boyfriend in Los Angeles. There is officially no point to the back entrance. More paparazzi wait back there than in the front. They need to come up with secret roof top escapes with helicopter pads fully equipped and ready to go. Ah,who am I kidding? Even then the paps will find a way to get the shot.

Maybe the back entrance exit is so it looks like they didn't want to have their photo taken?

Hilary Duff went out to dinner with boyfriend Mike Comrie and friends at Los Angeles' trendy restaurant, Il Sole. I'm not sure of Friday night's weather, but Hilary was photographed wearing a sweater and boots. Someone's eager for the Fall!!! :)
