Jessica Simpson is the oldest child of Tina Ann and Joseph Truett “Joe” Simpson. She’s the oldest of two children: her younger sister is Ashlee Simpson. Jessica grew up in Dallas and sang in the choir of her Baptist church where Joe was a minister. She tried out for the Mickey Mouse Club (and was even put into a tryout group with Justin Timberlake) but didn’t make it. Yet Jessica got another chance at a singing career when she was introduced to the founder of a small Gospel music label, Proclaim Records.
With that fateful introduction, Jessica’s entertainment career was born. Her debut single. ‘I Wanna Love You Forever’ was a hit, and her debut album, ‘Sweet Kisses,’ went on to become double Platinum. Jessica followed up with ‘Irresistable’ and then her bestselling album ever, ‘In This Skin.’ Jessica transitioned to country music in 2008 with the album ‘Do You Know.’ She branched out from music, however, starring in one of the early reality TV shows, ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’ with her new husband, Nick Lachey. Jessica then expanded to star in movies with ‘The Dukes of Hazzard,’ ‘Employee of the Month’ and ‘Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous.’ As if being a singer, TV personality, and actress weren’t enough, Jessica started a clothing line, ‘The Jessica Simpson Collection.’ In 2010 Jessica’s clothing line became the top-selling celebrity clothing line ever with $270 million in sales. It’s projected to break $1 billion in sales.
Jessica married Nick Lachey in 2002. The couple collaborated on several projects, including ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’ and ‘The Nick and Jessica Variety Hour.’ The couple divorced in 2005, however. Jessica went on to briefly date John Mayer before becoming engaged to Eric Johnson in 2010. Jessica welcomed her first child, daughter Maxwell Drew, with Eric in May 2012. Spies said they curled up in a booth and spent the evening “whispering into each other’s ears. “My hair was, like, to my waist…I was a Texas girl,” Jess began. “It was, like, long hair that was only processed with Aqua Net and highlights. And somebody bleached it, and then they had to cut it because everything broke off!”
Nick‘s ex continued her travail as if it were the most devastating thing that had ever occurred in her 26-year-old existence (perhaps it was?): “And then, all of a sudden, my record label completely freaked out and called. Dane Cook Admits No Truth To Simpson Romance And Jessica Lands A New Movie Role Isn’t it ironic that while ‘Employee of the Month‘ was doing it’s press rounds and rumors began to swirl about Dane Cook hooking up with Jessica Simpson – no one tried to stop them? Now that the film has been released and everyone stopped caring about the fake relationship, Dane has come out to say that there never WAS a relationship. Hmmnn, smells like a way to stretch out press to me.
“When there are lies, speculation or rumor, you can never fight it,” he explained. “To walk away from it and let it be helps things die out quicker.” (source)
In other news, Jessica Simpson told reporters that she has signed on to do a remake for ‘Working Girl‘ The new movie, titled ‘Blond Ambition‘ has Luke Wilson as her love interest. Jessica knows that she will get linked to Wilson romantically once filming begins. So she has already started toprepare herself for the press.
She’s already anticipating rumors of a Wilson romance: “I’m preparing myself for the tabloids’ next covers.”
