Nicole Richie’s Wedding Plans

Nicole Richie told Ellen DeGeneres that she’s ready to start planning her wedding.

“I’ve been on the road. I just got home, and so it’s really going to be now that’s the time for me to sit down and think about what I want,” Richie says in an interview set to air Tuesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

So, first things first. Have they set a date?

“Not yet, but soon.”

That won’t be the only hurdle Nicole and fiance Joel Madden will have to overcome. Apparently, they have other things to negotiate, according to what Joel told Wenn.

“According to her we’ll have a really big wedding. According to me, it will be really small.”

Something tells me Nicole’s going to win that fight- LOL.

Nicole Richie And Joel Madden Talk About Their Wedding On The Oscars Red Carpet

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden walked the red carpet during the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. Ryan Seacret had a moment to talk to the happy couple. Turns out Joel has a job tonight – he’s the event DJ.

I’m DJing tonight. I’m actually inside the show and entertaining the crowd in between production. I plan on doing a lot of old school Motown.

Joel wanted to keep his plans a secret. Nicole said she had no idea what was up her fiance’s sleeve.

He actually wanted to keep it a big secret tonight. I actually don’t know what he’s playing.

Then the question came about the big day. When are these two getting married?! Nicole joked:

It’s tomorrow.

Wouldn’t that be really funny if it was? Joel had a different idea.

We thought it would be really fun to do it here at the Oscars.

A red carpet wedding? That would be unique! Joel continued:

You never know. We’re trying to do the same thing as our engagement, we’re kinds doing our own thing.

Naturally, Nicole and Joel are keeping the details to themselves. It doesn’t make it less exciting for their fans!

Nicole Richie Flew A Jet To Montreal

Nicole Richie admits she scared passengers when she co-piloted a flight recently.

The reality TV star was allowed to take control of a private plane when she flew to Canada and while she found it lots of fun, she’s not sure others agreed.

“This past Thursday, I flew to Montreal … and by flew, I mean I actually flew. My partners, Rick and Brian, let me be the co-pilot once again on their jet!

“It was so much fun! Now if only everyone else on the flight felt the same way.”

Is that… legal? I’m sure the real pilots were right on top of Nicole.

Nicole Richie Designed Her Own Engagement Ring

Nicole Richie designed her own engagement ring.

The TV star worked with renowned celebrity jeweler Neil Lane on the band, which sports a flawless four carat, round diamond. Lane told People magazine:

“We designed it together. Nicole was lovely and wonderful to work with on it! She wanted a beautiful, special ring and wanted to be intimately involved in the design.”

The jeweler also revealed Joel Madden let his wife-to-be have complete control over the design.

“Joel just wanted her to have her dream ring.”

I pretty much did the same thing. I know most people would say that sort of spoils the surprise, but I was 22 and my only concern was that I would have to wear that ring forever. Looking back 10 years later, perhaps I would have done things a bit different.

Nicole Richie Says Her Priorities Changed After Having Children

Nicole Richie’s priorities changed after having children.

The 28-year-old socialite admits everything in her life changed after she had two-year-old daughter Harlow and son Sparrow, five months with fiance Joel Madden.

“When you have the kids, everything changes doesn’t it? It sounds cheesy to say, but it does. Your whole life changes and your priorities change 100 per cent… in the best way possible.”

Nicole has also admitted she and Joel are planning to have more children – but are unsure on what they could name their third baby. Speaking about Harlow and Sparrow, she said:

“I didn’t even realize that both of their names ended with ‘ow. I love the name Willow, and now that’s out because I’m not gonna have all kids with ‘ows!’”

“Joel and I have very different tastes in names. We really just have to work with whatever it is we both agree on, so I really liked Sparrow from Captain Jack Sparrow, and he liked it for different reasons.”

Yesterday Nicole’s father, Lionel Richie, admitted he was excited about walking his daughter down the aisle.

“My happiness for Nicole and Joel knows no boundaries. They have given me two beautiful grandchildren, Harlow and Sparrow, and have proven to be great parents.

“I am not sure who is luckier, Nicole and Joel to have each other, or me, to have both of them in my life. I cannot wait to give away the bride!”

Here she is leaving her NYC hotel accessorized with a Chanel purse and staying warm under a long black coat. The designer was on her way to Bloomingdale’s to debut The Winter Kate Spring 2010 Collection. I checked out the pieces and am seriously in love with the majority of them!!

Joel Madden Confirms Nicole Richie Engagement

Last night a source told Us Weekly that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were engaged and planning their wedding. The web went wild – but it was technically just a rumor considering the information didn’t come from a rep or the couple themselves.

Well, thankfully Joel likes to Tweet. He posted that the rumor was true on his Twitter account after the buzz erupted:

“Yep. I’m engaged. Very happy.

“Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same.”

So Miss Richie is shopping for a wedding dress! Can’t wait to see what she does with the look. Wonder if Rachel Zoe is going to help with the shopping.

Nicole Richie And Joel Madden Raise Money For Playground

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have made good on a promise to build a playground at Los Angeles low income housing area Beyond Shelter. Back in 2008, they pledged to raise $35,000 through their Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation charity to build a playground for the children there.

The uncharacteristically bad weather meant Harlow and other kids couldn’t try out the new playground, but despite that – the opening went well.

Nicole said:

“When we first started coming here, there were no kids outside. To see the place come to life and have a place to come outside and be kids, and have their imaginations run wild, it’s really awesome.”

Joel shared:

“We’re humbled to be a part of it. Today is a big day for our family.” “The foundation is really important to me and Nicole. We’re just really happy to be a part of the community and celebrating with these kids who haven’t been as fortunate as us.”

What a cool thing to be involved in. I love that they devote so much of their time doing great things for people.

Nicole Richie Doesn’t Dwell On The Past

Nicole Richie doesn’t dwell on the past. As she shouldn’t. Life is too short.

The 28-year-old socialite-turned-designer refuses to revisit her troubled history because she is so happy now.

“You know, I’m one to live in the present and enjoy the time that I’m having. Going back into my past is just not something that I do. Right now, I’m living my dreams. To me, I’ve accepted responsibility for what I’ve done and I don’t really try and look at why I did it.

“I just feel that I have gotten past it and moved on, and it’s just something that’s not really a part of my life any more.”

Nicole also revealed she doesn’t think of her friends like Paris and Nicky Hilton as famous. She told Marie Claire magazine:

“I don’t look at those people as celebrities. I look at them as people. I live my life and I do what I do, and sometimes you forget that people are watching you.”

Talk about growing up in front of our eyes. I’m so happy Nicole grounded herself and is truly enjoying life. She could have went down an entirely different path if she kept up with her old ways.

Nicole Richie Jokes About Out-Singing Jennifer Hudson

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden both attended the new recording of “We Are The World” yesterday. They Twittered about the experience.

Nicole wrote:

“I hope Jennifer Hudson wasn’t upset that I was out-singing her tonight,” she sarcastically Twittered.

She was blown away by Brian Wilson:

“Brian Wilson stood next to me & I got to hear him sing right into my left ear. Can you say AWESOME!”

I really think it’s neat that Nicole was able to participate in it – she was 4 years old when her dad wrote the song with Michael Jackson. She said she was “excited” to do it again and “help make a change.”

They even brought Harlow along! Joel Tweeted:

“Watched harlow flirt with Kanye, Cary Hart, Busta [Rhymes], Sean garret, and the jonas brothers,” he joked via Twitter. “Just like her mom, she plays hard to get.”

Too cute! Reportedly, over 80 stars showed up for the recording!

Nicole Richie Found Eating Disorder Rumors Insulting

Remember a few years ago, back in 2006, when Nicole Richie was REALLY thin (a size 0) and had us all worried for her health? She even told Vanity Fair at the time that she knew she was too thin. Well, that’s technically not an admission of an eating disorder. Now Nicole is going on the record with the British Marie Claire.

“I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don’t,” she says. “It’s extremely insulting and irresponsible. An eating disorder is serious and it’s a disease.”

Yes, it is serious. And Nicole was really thin!

However, Nicole says she’s stopped dwelling on the past since having Harlow and Sparrow.

“I’m just one to live in the present and enjoy the time that I’m having,” she says. “Going into my past is just not something that I do. Right now I’m just living my dreams.”

Motherhood does seem to have settled Nicole. I’m truly happy to see her doing so well.

So why even bring this up? I’m confused. Why do you think Nicole is even discussing this, FOUR years later?

Nicole Richie And Nicky Hilton Grab Dinner Together

Why am I suddenly thinking about Paris Hilton and how she feels about her sister hanging out with her former best friend? Nicky Hilton was good friends with Nicole Richie too right?

Nicky and Nicole were seeing leaving celebrity hot spot, Madeo restaurant last night in LA. They weren’t the only girls to meet up according to the reality star’s Twitter feed. It looks like Sophia Rossi, Katherine Power (editor of Who What Wear), Joyce Azria, Kelly Sawyer, and Samantha Ronson were also breaking bread. Oh great – now I’m thinking about Lindsay Lohan too!

Larry King hosted a special two-hour Larry King Live called HAITI: HOW YOU CAN HELP, which brought together “celebrities and opinion leaders to inspire members of the global community to take immediate action in helping the people of Haiti affected by the devastating earthquake”. The list of celebrities that showed their support is massive: Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Maria Bello, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Stiller, David Spade, Molly Sims, Ryan Seacrest, Jared Leto, Paula Abdul, Will.i.am, and Snoop Dogg.
