Christina Aguilera Rocks The Vote

Christina Aguilera was part of Max's first gig, a campaign to encourage youth to participate in the election process. Not a bad thing to participate in. The LA Times reports:
In the new broadcast ad, set to debut later this summer, Aguilera sings a lullaby of "America the Beautiful" to her son, who was born in January. The Grammy winner said she didn't think twice about putting her son in the spot because it's "inevitable that he will be subjected to some amount of press," so it might as well be channeled into a good cause.
"This election in particular is such an exciting and historical one, and so I was proud to have my son and I stand together for such a powerful moment and message in time," the 27-year-old star said.
Did you know that Rock the Vote turned 18 this year? 18! I can't believe that campaign has been around for so long. Â

I'm not surprised that no one involved in the stupid "vote because non-voting b-listers tell you to" campaign knows how disrespectful it is to use the flag as a blanket. Why don't they just cut to the chase and say, "Spit on the flag or burn it but make sure you vote for Barack Obama the America-hating socialist!"

The "Rock the Vote" is complete stupidity. Remember when Paris Hilton and I think P. Diddy did it and then everyone found out that they didn't even vote last time around? hahaha. I bet half of Hollywood doesn't take time out of their precious $10,000 days to go to the polls to vote. and the audience they are aiming at is like the 18-24 crowd on MTV, which notoriously fail to vote... with or without this stupid campaign. But if Xtina can get free publicity and pimp her son out -- she's there for sure.

it is a cute thing but it is not right to wrap anything in the flag. as the wife of a military man it is disrespectful. a flag should only be flown or laid over the coffin of a servicemember or those that work in any line of duty that has that right. you dont wrap yourself in it. let it touch the ground or demoralize it. i think that is one thing that should be argued against or taken lightly
