My daughter and my neice are heading off to California for a birthday party. I 've never been to California...never been to the west coast really..never been to Las Vegas. I think I'm missing something here. To be honest, what I'd really love to do is go to New Mexico!!! That place calls to me whenever I'm in a quite space and time.....sounds crazy but I know I have to get there. My girlfriend has an aunt in New Mexico...maybe it's time to go and visit. We spoke about going on a trip there a while ago......but I havent' been such a good friend lately...I don't call...I've been in a slump for a while now. I just have to stop and shake it off and grow up already!! Where is my phone book?

We are going to my husbands neices graduation party today. For some reason, my husbands thinks its ok to invite our friends to his sisters house. She and her husband have 3 children - the oldest graduating high school. They have a lovely home in Lake Grove with a pool, hot tub, sun room and lots of backyard space. But it is not his house. He got his sister to invite about 6 couples to this party...she does not seem to mind....o.k.

My husband has been trying to get these people to his sisters to see the pool and backyard for about 6 years!! There will be music, entertainment, food, drink and with God's blessing, we will all have a wonderful day. Let me tell you my husband is one happy guy today!! oh Yeah.....and I'm glad his mom is here from Florida for the party. She will make sure he does not give me a hard time when I get to drive home tonite.

There will soon be a photo of A-Rod with a mystery woman taken at a trailer park......it's me. But I'm not one to kiss and tell.....so I will only talk about this under sworn oath in a court of law when they call me. I'm funny like that.

When my daughter was around 11 years old..her and her friends were crazy for the new kids on the block. So my girlfriend got tickets for all of us to go New Jersey to see them. It was going to be a secret, we would pretend we were going to great adventures in NJ. So off we go. As we got closer to the stadium, my girlfriend started to talk about the new kids and wondering if maybe we could stop by and try to get tickets. Her 2 daughters thought it was a great idea....not my daughter. She started screaming that she wanted to go the the rides.....she never gets a chance to go to....what to do...

We were coming to the exit for Giant Stadium and my daughter is crying. Finally I had to tell her we got the tickets already......she stopped screaming and looked...blinking..not sure what to think or believe.

"Really Vera, we got tickets!"

Now we were all laughing and screaming. The girls lost in their own world hugging each other and screaming...laughing.

I parked the car and in we went. We had a great time. The girls left us and went closer to the stage...screaming, singing, waving, hugging each other....and by the end of the night.....I was marrying Joey.

If you have ever been at a party buffet table...i'd be one of the first people on line...not that I like buffets because I tend to get trapped in a warped zone of getting a plate full of stuff that really do not go. That does not stop me from going back...thinking I'm going to get it right this time...only to come back with some mussels and linguini , some honey dew,strawberries and 3 rolls with butter. My husband gives my plate a look .....what....what are you looking at? I'll be dancing this all off as soon as the music starts....no problem. Hope there is a dessert table.
