If there’s one time period in my life that I certainly would not want to return to, that would be my high school years. I know that while some people might consider their high school days the best days of their lives, I didn’t feel that way at all. I’m sure Nicki Minaj knows what I’m talking about as she compares the entertainment industry to high school in her new interview with Teen Vogue. Here are some highlights of what she says in the mag:

The industry is like high school: “People treat this business like it’s high school. It can absolutely feel like one big popularity contest, and you know what? I can’t be bothered. I can’t allow myself to play ridiculous games with grown adults in the industry. I can’t be nice to someone just because they’re hot right now. I can’t do it.”

She switched schools a lot: “Every time my parents fought, my mother would have us move and I would have to go to a new school, which meant I’d have to face the task of making new friends. I dreaded it. I had butterflies in my stomach each time: Are people going to like or hate me? … Sometimes there’d be a fight, sometimes not. I let people know I wasn’t going to be pushed around.”

The good & bad of the internet: “My journey to who I am today began on MySpace. I love getting real opinions from people. I used to read the bad things people said about me. Then I asked myself, ‘Why am I reading that when I have millions of people saying great things?’ You cannot give negativity power. I tell teens, if you’re having a problem, there’s nothing wrong with deleting your social media. If people keep taunting you and you keep reading it, it’s poison.”

It looks like this actress is giving an old love a second try here. Selma Blair was spotted looking very friendly and even at one point affectionate with her ex-boyfriend and baby daddy Jason Bleick while the two were out and about in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Monday afternoon.

Selma rarely ever talks about her private life, so I doubt she’ll have anything to say about this publicly, but it’s great to see Selma and Jason back together again, considering the fact that they share an almost 2-year-old son, Arthur, together. Here’s hoping they make it last this time around!

I’m usually not a fan of matching two shades of the same color in one outfit, but it looks like Kerry Washington might be pulling this off. The actress was spotted looking red-hot at the Good Morning America studios, where she taped an appearance early on Tuesday morning in New York City.

Mid-May is by far one of my most favorite times of the year and not just because the weather is great, but because all the stars flock to France for the Cannes Film Festival and we get to see some of the most amazing dresses before the summer hits. British actress (and one of my favorites!) Emma Watson was spotted arriving at Nice Airport for the film festival in Southern France looking oh-so-chic on Tuesday morning.

When a man can open up about crying during “The Notebook” and “Up,” you know he’s a keeper, right? LOL. Well, according to Hollywood actor Chris Pine, that’s exactly what he did as he opens up to Men’s Health Magazine about what makes him weep along with a few other goodies in his interview. Here are some snippets:

On what’s in store for Star Trek into Darkness: “Much more action; much, much more intensity; and a lot more fighting.” In a couple of words? “Seriously epic,” he says.

On being a misfit in high school: “Just looking at a girl felt awkward. When you feel like an oddball, it never really leaves you. Even now, I’m better around people who are uncomfortable with themselves, the misfits.”

On his father’s acting career: “Acting was work for him. It was a job. I always thought there was something great about that. Almost like you’re working in a bank. You don’t get carried away with yourself.”

On being mentored by Alec Balwin: “I was transparent in my desire to be mentored. ‘Please give me sage wisdom,’ I’d say. Alec just took me by the shoulders and said, ‘Do it,’ which to me meant ‘Jump in, dive in, take it. Smile and laugh. Grab it, chew it.’”
