  Simon Monjack Autopsy Results Revealed

  Today the autopsy results for Simon Monjack, who passed away in May, reveal that he died from the same causes as wife Brittany Murphy. The report states that Simon died of acute pneumonia and severe anemia, which is nearly the exact cause of Brittany’s death.

  According to E!, the coroner ruled out heart disease as a contributing factor, which seems strange since he was reportedly due to have bypass surgery?

  Drug use was ruled out in the report, as well.

  Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter confirmed that while Monjack did have some legal medications in his system, he did not succumb to a prescription drug overdose or multiple drug intoxication; drugs were listed as a contributing factor in Murphy’s death.

  Simon’s family has requested one more test, which the coroner will complete and then release the official autopsy report.

  Simon Monjack Laid To Rest Next To Brittany Murphy

  Simon Monjack was laid to rest next to Brittany Murphy yesterday. I don’t know why I find this whole thing so surreal. I almost still can’t believe Brittany is dead.

  The British screenwriter – who passed away suddenly last Sunday (23.05.10) – was buried at Los Angeles’ Forest Lawn Memorial Park just five months after his late actress spouse. Family spokesman Roger Neal said:

  “It was Simon’s wish to be laid to rest next to her.”

  Brittany Murphy’s Mother Is “Devastated” By Simon Monjack’s Death

  I truly feel for this woman. Too much loss for one person to handle in such a short period of time. Brittany Murphy‘s mother is “devastated” by Simon Monjack‘s death.

  Sharon Murphy is the one who discovered Simon’s body on Sunday and has since expressed her grief over his passing.

  “I loved Simon like a son, and he loved me like a mom. I’ve lost a son-in-law and a daughter, and I’m devastated.”

  Sharon – who also discovered Brittany unconscious in her shower in December – is now expected to channel her grief into the Brittany Murphy Foundation, a charitable organization set up by her and Simon to help inner-city children discover the arts. Roger Neal, her publicist, said:

  “I don’t know if many of us could endure what she’s endured in the last five months. She’s incredibly strong, she has close friends around her. And I think more than ever she’s going to be determined to make sure that the Brittany Murphy Foundation goes forward.

  “She just needs her privacy right now, and she’s taking it. She’s distraught, but she’s strong at the same time.”
