The actress says we are just going to have to find a way to move on because she won’t play that bubbly 23 year old anymore in films.
In fact, Cameron says she’s delighted to ditch her innocent on screen image.
The 36-year-old actress – who plays a mother whose daughter has terminal cancer in ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ – enjoyed the challenging maternal role because it was completely different to her usual parts.
Cameron – who shot to fame after starring in several hit comic films – said:“I’m not going to be the 23-year-old ingenue again. If I tried to hold on to that, I’d be a pretty unhappy individual. I don’t make movies for my ego. I do them for my personal growth and to give something to an audience.”
Despite growing close to her 13-year-old ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ co-star Abigail Breslin, the blonde beauty is still unsure whether she will become a mother herself.
She explained:“I don’t declare either way if I’m going to have children. I don’t know what will happen… and I’m totally fine with that.”
Earlier this month, Cameron said she found it easy to empathise with her character Sara Fitzgerald even though she is not a mother herself.
"I think we all related to the fact that there isn’t anything that you wouldn’t give someone that you love that deeply. You do whatever it takes to keep that person alive. I think that that’s something that spoke to most of us, for this film, and what I think is so effective in the film."

Cameron Diaz For V-Magazine Cameron Diaz channeled old school Madonna for her V-Magazine cover. An on-set tattoo artists even had to draw those on for the photo shoot! She really does look like the Queen of Pop in some of these pictures. Amazing what the right wardrobe, makeup and lighting can do!
I wonder if Madonna has seen this…and if she feels like Cameron has done her justice…

Who Earned More: Angelina Jolie Or Jennifer Aniston? Something tells me Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston will be compared until they retire and leave the public eye. Which I suspect won’t happen for a very long time. Well, thanks to Forbes annual "Hollywood’s Top Earning Actresses" we can compare Angelina and Jennifer on one more front: who earned more money in the last year?
Angelina: she reportedly earned $27 million last year while Jennifer earned $25 million. Something tells me Jennifer will have no trouble consoling herself with $25 million.
Meryl Streep was the third-highest paid actress with $24 million.
Sarah Jessica Parker came in at #4 with a $23 million paycheck, and Cameron Diaz was fifth with $20 million.
Acting certainly does pay well when you’re at the top of your profession!

Cameron Diaz Could Relate To My Sister’s Keeper Cameron Diaz would do anything for her loved ones.
The actress found it easy to empathize with her ‘My Sister’s Keeper’
character Sara Fitzgerald, whose daughter has terminal cancer, even though
she isn’t a mother herself.
She said:"I think we all related to the fact that there isn’t anything that
you wouldn’t give someone that you love that deeply. You do whatever it
takes to keep that person alive. I think that that’s something that spoke to
most of us, for this film, and what I think is so effective in the film."Cameron – whose father Emilio Diaz died after developing pneumonia while she
was working on the film – also praised her 13-year-old co-star Abigail
Breslin for her brave performance.
Abigail plays Sara’s other daughter Anna, who was a designer baby born to
help keep Kate alive. However, Anna decides she wants the right to make her
own medical decisions."What was amazing about working with Abigail was that I
realised you see her and you’re like, ‘Oh, she’s just a little girl,’ but
she’s got so much power within her. I went up to her mother and said, ‘Your
daughter is a warrior.’"She can take all these things that are happening around her, that are these
very adult, complicated, complex situations and ideas, and she’s able to
somehow put something behind it with more strength than you see in most
people. I was amazed by how strong she is. She’s just a powerhouse."Even writing about this story I get chills. It is such a powerful story and as a parent, it’s very hard to side with one character.

Cameron Diaz Is A Chef, Too In addition to playing the role of a mother for her latest movie, ‘My Sister’s Keeper,’ Cameron Diaz had another role she liked to play on set: chef. She enjoyed cooking for her young co-stars, Abigail Breslin, Evan Ellingson, and Sofia Vassilieva.
"I made them guacamole and chili cheese fries and fajitas," Diaz, 36, told PEOPLE at Wednesday night’s premiere of the film…
"She’s an incredible cook," came the praise from Vassilieva, 16.
"Everything was very organic. Very healthy. She’s totally cool to hang
out with. She’s so nurturing and took care of us."However, it sounds like actor Jason Patric, who played Cameron’s husband, didn’t get to enjoy those perks.
Apparently only the children got cooked for. But it’s all right."
Poor Jason! Maybe Cameron will send him a basket of baked goodies

Tom Cruise Will Re-Team With Cameron Diaz Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, who co-starred together in ‘Vanilla Sky,’ are pairing up again for a new movie called ‘Wichita.’ Cameron told Us Weekly that she’s "very excited" to team up with Tom again.
"Well, if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t be doing it," she said. "I’m
very, very excited about doing it. It’s an action film, so I’m really
excited to work him."‘Wichita’ is reportedly about an undercover agent (Tom) who meets a single woman who has bad luck with men (Cameron).
Between this and seeing Tom and wife Katie Holmes make a rare public appearance to see Cameron get her star on the Walk of Fame makes me think they’re pretty good friends.
