Casey Affleck Settles Sexual Harassment Lawsuits Whatever happened between Casey Affleck and the two women who alleged he sexually harassed them during the making of the Joaquin Phoenix documentary ‘I’m Still Here’ will remain secret now, I suspect. Casey reached a settlement with both women.
“The disputes between Flemmy Productions, LLC and Casey Affleck with Amanda White and Magdalena Gorka in connection with the film ‘I’m Still Here’ have been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties and the lawsuits are being dismissed,” the Affleck camp said in a statement.
Financial details of the settlement were not disclosed.
I know there are a lot of good reasons to settle these types of lawsuits besides guilt (like, not wanting to spend the entire publicity campaign for ‘I’m Still Here’ responding to questions about the lawsuit), but these settlements always put a question mark in my mind: if you aren’t guilty, why not fight so you can protect your name?
Well, hopefully everyone is satisfied with the outcome. I guess that’s what really matters.

Casey Affleck Sued for Sexual Harassment: Again A week after a female producer who worked with Casey Affleck on the documentary he made of brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix’s “decision” to become a rapper sued him for sexual harassment, another female staffer (this time the cinematographer) has sued Casey and his production company, also alleging sexual harassment, E! News reports.
Magdalena Gorka, who was mentioned in the lawsuit filed by Amanda White last week, alleges that Affleck and other members of the crew instantly made her feel “uncomfortable” on the set by making lewd comments, talking about having sex with Gorka and suggesting she sleep with the camera assistant.
In mid-December 2008, her suit states, the crew stayed overnight at Phoenix and Affleck’s New York apartment while in town shooting scenes for I’m Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix.
Because she was the only woman there at the time, Gorka says, Affleck told her she could sleep in his bedroom and he’d take the couch. She says that she woke up up in the middle of the night to find Affleck, wearing underwear and a t-shirt, curled up next to her.
His breath “reeked of alcohol,” she claims.
According to the lawsuit, when she told him to get out of bed, Affleck asked, “Why?” and she replied, “Because you are married and because you are my boss.”
Gorka quit after this incident, she says, but agreed to return to the film after White joined the crew and she figured having another woman around would help.

Casey Affleck Sued For Sexual Harassment- And He Sues BACK! I always think of Casey Affleck as the quiet Affleck (compared to his big brother, Ben, although Ben has calmed down A LOT since settling down with Jennifer Garner), but now he’s in the spotlight (and not because of his documentary on his brother-in-law, Joaquin Phoenix, “quitting” acting to become a rapper). Casey is being sued for $2 million for sexual harassment. And Casey is suing right back.
Amanda White alleges in a lawsuit being filed this afternoon in Los Angeles Superior Court that she was forced to endure debauched behavior during production of “I’m Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix,” including “uninvited and unwelcome sexual advances in the workplace” and an impromptu shoot in a Las Vegas hotel room filled with hookers and transvestites…
“On one occasion, Affleck instructed a crew member to take off his pants in order to show [White] his penis, even after [White] objected,” the complaint alleges. “Affleck repeatedly referred to women as ‘cows;’ he discussed his sexual exploits and those of other celebrities that he allegedly witnessed; and asked [White], after learning her age, ‘Isn’t it about time you get pregnant?’”
The complaint also says White was prevented from going to her bedroom during shooting in Costa Rica because “Affleck and Phoenix locked themselves in her bedroom with two women,” the lawsuit says. “Affleck also attempted to manipulate [White] into staying in a hotel room with him, and when she resisted, he grabbed her in a hostile manner in an effort to intimidate her into complying.”
Something that makes this that much more awkward? Casey is married to River’s sister, Summer, and they have two children together. Casey’s attorney is hitting back, though:

Ben Affleck Talks About Brother Casey’s Documentary On Joaquin Phoenix Ben Affleck talked to E! Daily 10 (7:30 pm ET/PT) about his brother Casey’s documentary on Joaquin Phoenix’s transition from acting to rapping.Ben definitely sounds supportive of Casey’s directorial debut.
My brother is directing this documentary which is about Joaquin’s um, you know shift from acting to music. I have seen some of the stuff. And I think this movie is going to be spectacular. My brother’s going to prove to be quite a director and uh, it’s hard to know you know… well I’ll leave it at that."
If you’re like me, and wondering how Casey became involved in all this, remember that Casey is married to Joaquin’s sister.So do you consider Ben’s comment more "verification" that Joaquin truly is quitting acting to pursue a rap career?

I Officially Believe We Are Getting Punk’d Either this is all a big joke for Casey Affleck’s documentary, or Joaquin Phoenix has lost his damn MIND. We all know Casey is filming Joaquin’s rise to fame as a new rapper on the scene, but we’ve never seen the former actor in action. Here is your chance.
Joaquin is even seen falling off the stage in the second video and then he stands up moments later with his arm in the air as if to say he is alright. Feels very scripted to me. But who knows… I could be wrong.
