Johnny Depp, joined Helena Bonham Carter, Rachel Roy, and Veronica Webb in celebrating the work of Tim Burton at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art. The exhibit, which is sponsored by Syfy, will be open to the public from November 22nd 2009 – April 26th, 2010.
The exhibition will feature a collection of over 700 rarely and never-before-seen drawings, paintings, photographs, storyboards, moving-image works, puppets, maquettes, costumes and cinematic ephemera, and explores how Burton has taken inspiration from sources in pop culture and reinvented Hollywood genre filmmaking as an expression of personal vision, garnering him an international audience of fans and influencing a generation of young artists working in film, video, and graphics.
I was invited to attend a preview and wanted to share some of the art that will be on display. Click on the thumbnails below to check them out.

Is Johnny Depp Worth $35 Million For Pirates?
Johnny Depp will receive at least $35 million for making the new ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film, it has been revealed.
The 46-year-old star – who plays the eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie franchise – is returning for the fourth installment and is set to become Hollywood’s highest-paid actor, topping the likes of Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson and Tom Hanks, with the huge pay day.
The ‘Sleepy Hollow’ actor is guaranteed the $35 million as a minimum for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’, due for release in the 2011, and could receive even more should it be a huge box-office hit.
And… of COURSE it will be a box office HIT!
Disney bosses are paying Depp such a high fee because his co-stars from the previous three movies, Keira Knightley, 24, and 32-year-old Orlando Bloom, have dropped out.
Geoffrey Rush will once again play Captain Barbossa, while Penelope Cruz is rumored to be in line to take the female lead.
It’s a good movie for the kids – you can’t deny that. And quite honestly, that’s chump change compared to what the movie will make worldwide.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006) – $1,060,332,628
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007) – $958,404,152
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) – $653,200,000
Not really much of a risk here! Continue reading »

Fact Or Fiction: Johnny Depp To Pay Nicolas Cage’s Debts
Johnny called Nic and basically told him not to worry and he’d help him and sort everything out,” says a friend.
“Johnny feels he owes his career to Nic and now wants to repay him – if Nic agrees.”
The friend adds: “Johnny has never forgotten what Nic did for him.”
As you might recall, Nicolas was the one who got Johnny into acting when he was a struggling musician and it led to his first role in ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’. The females of the world thank you, Nic Cage.
Can you imagine telling your significant other that you are spending $7 million to help out a friend? lol Maybe to them $7 million is like borrowing 20 bucks to your kid brother. Do you think this story is true?

Johnny Depp And Angelina Jolie To Star Together In A Film?
Now this should be an interesting pair on-screen! I told you a while ago that Angelina Jolie had signed on to replace Charlize Theron in ‘The Tourist,’ with ‘Terminator Salvation’ star Sam Worthington as her co-star.
Now Sam has pulled out, and Johnny Depp is in talks to replace him as the male lead.
The revamp of the 2005 French spy thriller “Anthony Zimmer” involves a female Interpol agent who ropes an everyman American tourist visiting France into becoming bait in the hunt for a wanted criminal who’s also her former lover.
Oh, I hope this happens! I can’t even imagine these two together on-screen, but I know I’d go to the theaters to see it. What do you think of Angelina and Johnny starring in a film together?

Johnny Depp Shares His Greatest Fear
Johnny Depp’s “greatest fear” is his children becoming actors. The ‘Public Enemies’ star – who has 10-year-old daughter Lily-Rose and Jack, seven, with French singer Vanessa Paradis - is worried his children’s interest in his career will see them follow in his Hollywood footsteps.
“One thing is certain – neither of them will ever get bored. I always show them my various costumes and they love it. My children seem to take my job for granted. But I honestly hope that Lily-Rose and Jack don’t want to become actors – that’s my greatest fear!”
Worse things can happen!!
Johnny says his family is the most important thing in his life and he is more interested in pleasing them than winning acting awards. The 46-year-old star explained to Germany’s Joy magazine:
“I’m just an actor and not a hero. It doesn’t make any sense to me that I should leave the world anything. To me only one thing is really important – I want my children to be proud of me!”
What a very sweet thing to say. I just adore Johnny Depp.

Heath Ledger’s Final Film
It’s here! The official full-length trailer for Heath Ledger’s last film – The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. I wasn’t too sure about it before but after watching, I’m definitely going to see this one. I really think it was fantastic of Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell to step in and help director Terry Gilliam to get this movie completed! It will have a limited release on December 25th.
What do you think? I’m guessing this will do very well at the box office. It feels bittersweet.
