America Ferrera's Ugly Betty sure did some damage at The 2008 ALMA Awards held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in LA. Just look at how many awards the series scooped up! Eva Longoria, Roselyn Sanchez, Karina Smirnoff, Mario, Charlie Sheen, Shakira, and Zac Efron walked the red carpet and cheered on their pals at this weekend's event.

Sure she's a famous actress on a hit television series, but people in New York City just don't care. And America Ferrera is happy about that because it means she can live a normal life. Ugly Betty's relocation to N.Y.C. has given the whole cast a new outlook.

"I love shooting Ugly Betty here. I love New York. I feed off the energy. New York streets are so alive, it truly gives you inspiration. And the people? Incredible. They don't care who you are. They recognise you, but go right on with their lives. Like, they see me and holler: 'Betty, we love you… now move, you're blocking traffic.'"

HEY NOW! We are so used to seeing America Ferrera in her Ugly Betty get up that it's almost shocking to see her on the red carpet. But she proved she can glam up with the best of them for the premiere of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. And fittingly a lot of the cast of Ugly Betty were there to support her. Blake Lively also stars in the movie so most of the cast of Gossip Girl was there too!

The lovely America Ferrera and her equally lovely co-star Judith Light were photographed chatting and getting their make-up done while on the set of, "Ugly Betty". Anyone else love that Judith is back on tv? I remember growing up with, "Who's The Boss?" and I adored her on that show. :)

America Ferrera was spotted filming for Ugly Betty in Manhattan yesterday. Really, what else would she be doing in that outfit? :) It's like the stylist is playing a game to see just how mismatching she can make every piece of clothing on America's body.

I'm sure that's probably a designer skirt, a designer cardigan and a designer pair of shoes, but anything worn with orange socks is a recipe for disaster. I wonder if it drives America crazy to have to wear these clothes when she's so stylish in real life!

Ugly Betty To Hit Broadway

It is no secret that producers of Ugly Betty are finalizing details surrounding an upcoming musical episode. BUT did you know that they are also talking about bringing the whole show to Broadway? Michael Urie let it slip during a radio show that there are hopes to bring the sitcom to the big stage and Michael wants in!

They do want to do an Ugly Betty musical, a full-on Broadway musical, but it’s all hush-hush. I think it would be great, and they should use the cast from the show.

But does the rest of the cast want to be Broadway bound?

"I think we would all do it, although we maybe don’t dance and sing as well as professional singers and dancers. I think it would be fun for us to do it for a while, and then they could get real people in. They definitely want to do an episode that is a musical one, but then they want to do a full stage show. I think it’s a great idea. It would definitely work."

I don't know how I feel about all of these shows and movies becoming Broadway plays. Broadway used to have a very different feel when I was growing up and now it is replaced by something much more commercial.

Exciting! Rumors are flying that America Ferrera is engaged to her long term, film maker boyfriend, Ryan Piers Williams. She was spotted walking around the set of Ugly Betty with a big diamond ring on that magic finger :) Check out the Daily Mail for the picture of America flashing that ring for the paparazzi.
I guess we'll just have to wait for rep confirmation on this one, but I don't think that the ring was for an Ugly Betty scene since she wasn't wearing it most of the shots of them filming yesterday. If it's true, congrats to the happy couple!
*Update: Her rep just denied the story. So much for that...

America Ferrera and Eric Mabius were photographed filming a new episode for their show, "Ugly Betty" in Beverly Hills yesterday. Obviously they are filming a show that has to do with baseball and while I can't say I like America in her baseball uniform I do rather find her other outfit cute. Now if only we could get some new episodes of, "Pushing Daisies"....Look out on FitCeleb for calorie counts on baseball later on today.
