Olympic Lovers! Can you believe what is going on with Michael Phelps? David from Pretty on the Outside sent me along this sketch he did rooting for Michael's 8th medal... the one that will make Olympic history. Here's to wishing!! Not that he needs it. Hey guys!

I'm starting to work on the new album… still trying to find the perfect "sound." Someone really smart told me that you have to make records in order to find out what kinds of records you should be making. I think that they put it pretty well. It's a discovery process, kind of like an archaeological dig... the perfect sound is there somewhere and just has to be uncovered. I've been writing and recording with artists and producers in London, Copenhagen and Los Angeles in the past few weeks. I'm pretty psyched that I'm getting to write and collaborate with some of my favorite artists. So you can "see" what I've been doing, I'm posting 2 new pics of me in the studio. One is of me, goofing around, wearing sparkly antenae at Matt Hales' studio in London. He's a great guy and we have a lot of fun in the studio. I love Aqualung -- if you haven't heard "Strange and Beautiful", iTunes it immediately, it will make your day that much better. The black and white photo was taken here in LA in the studio last week.

I have also been working with Susan G Komen for the Cure and will have some exciting news about my specific involvement with them pretty soon. I'll also be able to play you a song I wrote for them, called "Why Oh Why".

It isn't dying down... the buzz about the body they found in the forest that they are claiming is/was Big Foot. I mean, is this for real? And if this IS for real, I will quote the National Enquirer over People until the end of time. :)

Who's next? Wolf Boy? The alien with three heads? Rosemary's baby? Elvis? I can't handle this!!!

Two Northern California men and two Georgians say they've got a body, a photo and DNA evidence pertaining to the elusive forest-dwelling man-ape — and that they'll reveal all at a press conference in Palo Alto, Calif., on Friday.

"I think you'll find that this is the real deal," Robert Barrows of Redwood City, Calif., told the Bay City News local wire service.

I'm joking... I think. I mean I KNOW it isn't real. But I'm just thinking about how life altering it would be if it was. 

Thankfully, Boing Boing is claiming that the whole mess is a hoax concocted by two Georgian men who are known for this sort of thing. I say thankfully because they seem to be the only outfit reporting this.

Occasionally, I like to write about great sites I find online that aren't related to celebrity gossip. While reading TechCrunch, I found out about BakeSpace! It's a Myspace for bakers. You can upload your favorite recipes, share them with friends, hook up with other cooks etc. It launched HOURS ago and I just had to share.

I won't be able to take advantage of the site for about a week since my STOVE DIED ON ME yesterday. After several minutes of metal possession, we had to pull the plug. Since then, it's been chinese food, mexican burritos and pizza for the fam since we can't cook or warm up anything. Barely a year old... thanks Bosch!

Who's been watching? I went onto YouTube to see what people thought about the Olympics (and to try to find a video to post - no luck). I always like to see when people put up their reactions to things and it was very moving. People literally from all over the world made videos talking about how spectacular the opening was. It's the one moment of the year when the entire planet is united... even if it's just watching the same show. I love that.

In not so positive news, People Magazine is reporting that two Americans were attacked and one died by a crazed man with a knife.

As the world was still catching its breath from Friday's spectacular Olympic ceremony opening, news surfaced from Beijing that on the first day of the competition Saturday, a knife-wielding Chinese man stabbed two relatives of a coach for the U.S. Olympic men's volleyball team at one of the city's tourist sites. One was killed and the other injured, according to team officials and state media. The assailant then killed himself by jumping from the second story of the site, a 13th century Drum Tower, the Associated Press reports.

I have to say a couple of things that I feel are important to say right now.  A few months ago, I did a quick interview with Entertainment Tonight and I stuck my foot in my mouth and said that I was having twins by accident.

I BEGGED them to edit that out and not say anything yet as I wasn't ready for it to be out there then, but that when I was , I would give it to them exclusively.

They really could have ran with it but they said they would not.  They actually kept their word which I found so refreshing, I couldn't believe it.

I read about this earlier in the morning but was unsuccessful at finding a sample of the cards. Luckily for us, E Online posted one of Hallmark's latest batch of celebrity parodies. First they picked on Paris Hilton (who is still currently trying to put an end to it) and now the greeting card company is poking fun at Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson, Simon Cowell and Brad Pitt. Ouch!

How is this even legal?

As usual, Twitter is my lifeline to all things happening in the world. It's become ridiculous at this point. While on vacation with my husband this weekend, I would stop every few minutes to let him know about how hot it was going to be in Houston and what new blackberry application just came on the market... pathetic I know.

Today, I found out that Daily Candy just sold for millions. If you've never heard of Daily Candy, it's an email distribution list that's split out by region giving you the "what to haves" and the "where to bes" of your town. Started by someone like you and me, it sold today for $125 million.

If you have that little idea in your head that you've been thinking about creating / starting / writing... get to it! :) What have you got to lose?
