Britney Spears met up with the new host of the VMA's, Russell Brand this past Tuesday to talk about the upcoming promo ad's she'll be doing for MTV. I guess even after the "eventful" performance from last year she's willing to brave it again to show people she's back to her old self.  As of now she's just doing the promo ad's, but she is up for two VMA's and personally I think it would be fantastic if she performed again.

This is it folks!

It's not all about hot beach bods and celebrity moms to be. This is a survey with a cause! INO will donate $1 for every completed entry to Tupperware's Chain of Confidence initiative. By now most people have heard of Katy Perry, the super-hot singer/songwriter/musician currently co-headlining the Warped Tour, who's single hit I Kissed a Girl is #1 on iTunes and the Billboard Hot 100 and whose fantastically fun new album One of the Boys is this summers break out hit ... oh, and lets not forget the amazing shout-out she got from Madonna live on the radio!

 

But what most people don't know about Katy is how cool her style is! With her Lolita meets Joan Jett stylish mix of vintage & sunburst colors she's setting new trends daily & I wanted to let INO readers in on her secrets, so I found her favorite spots to shop:

Emeril Lagasse, renowned chef, restaurateur and America’s beloved expert on everything flavorful, will be featured in a new television campaign that will help re-launch Crest Whitening Expressions, a line of uniquely flavored whitening toothpastes. The toothpaste flavors are so tasty--- they might just be bigger than BAM!

In the ad campaign, Emeril is assisting Crest Whitening Expressions to look for the new Expression. The advertising introducing the contest will debut in mid September.

I had the opportunity to interview the chef and had a blast doing it. He is as personable as you think. Below is the complete story. Yes, I say story because I can't believe how much I typed this last hour. ;) I asked him things I always wanted to know from a chef. Does he eat Fast Food? Are his kids good eaters? And where the heck is his NYC restaurant?!And yes, I blurred the pic because I didn't really like the way it came out. It's not your eyes playing tricks on you.

Are there any other restaurants in the works? I live in NY and would love to hear you have one opening in the city.

There’s none in the forecast. I work in NY enough. I do television here and now with my responsibilities with Martha and MSO, there is just a lot going on here. There are actually no expansion plans for restaurants in any area.

You are continuing your partnership with Crest. I hear there is a new contest in the works where viewers are going to attempt to replace the Bam?

Well, I don’t know if you could ever replace the Bam. (Laughs) But we are going to see if someone can come up with another phrase Crest can use to sum up their new flavor.

Who cooks at home? In all honesty.

I do. I do about 95% of the cooking. My wife is a great cook but like she says, why do I have to?

Especially because she married a chef! How about your favorite family meal? What do your kids enjoy eating?

My kids love food so you know. We are one of those families that we get up and the first thing we are talking about is what we are having for dinner. They like steamed mussles to roast chicken to pasta bolognaise. They really eat.

Is it ever just a mac and cheese night in your house?

Rarely. We eat a lot of fish. When we are here in NY we live in a great neighborhood. It's one of those streets that has a great butcher shop and fish shop and a cheese shop. So my kids are really exposed to that kind of stuff. They know Saturday especially is a big day. We go together and we shop for good fish and whatever else we are going to have for the weekend.

What are their ages?

I have two older daughters and then I have a 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl.

How do you get the three year old to try new food? I'm asking because I have young children.

You know, I think that it starts from the top and um, I think that really unless there is some sort of medical problem or allergy problem, kids should be exposed to all type of food. When you live in a household that is putting their nose up to green beans or Brussels sprouts; there is really nothing that my kids don't eat.

They don't eat a lot of lettuces just because of the texture. They just haven't figured it out. But they do the cucumbers and tomatoes. They really just eat about each vegetable.

One thing I like to tell parents is - a great way to introduce and expose your children to different vegetables is to put it all in a good soup – a homemade soup.

Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway attended an exclusive Meet The Actors event hosted by Stephen Colbert at the Soho Apple Store in New York. Anne looked great in her conservative black ensemble as she joked with co-star Steve while promoting their new movie ‘Get Smart’.

'Get Smart' opens in theaters Friday.

Anne also did a little promotion for the movie on GMA this morning!

I. Can. Barely. Contain. My. Excitement! Okay fine, I can't contain it at all. I'm a huge fan of Indiana Jones and I'm so excited about the new installment with the extremely talented Cate Blanchett and Shia LeBeouf. After looking threw the movie stills I am just as eager to watch it and thankfully it's coming out this Friday. Anyone planning on seeing it? I know I am going to do everything in my power to be first in line. But babysitters need to play nice in order for the plan to actually work.

Last night I went to Stoli Hotel on West Street for the style battle finale of House of Deihl's Style Wars. I haven't been out to a party like this in AGES. So it was a great night out for me and I got to hang with my cousin who I rarely see these days.  I hadn't heard of the show before, so I really wasn't sure what to expect. This was part of the invite I received:

Invented by House of Diehl, and inspired by MC battling and haute couture, Style Battling is a hot new art form and the next new nightlife sensation.Following a sold out 5-city tour that garnered rave reviews, STYLE WARS: The Style Battle Championship Grand Finale brings the together the winners of the New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami and Chicago regional battles to face off in the final battle for the crown.Come witness America's most inventive young designers face off in knock-out rounds of rapid design - ”working against the clock, on models, live on stage. Cut, tape, burn, drape - ”competitors innovate to dominate this runway, using recycled garments and household objects to make bold new fashions in less than 5 minutes! It's DESIGN OR DIE as the crowd and a celebrity panel of Style judges choose which battler stays in the game, and which bites the dust. House of Diehl's MJ Diehl and Roman Milisic will MC. Plus live performance and a very special guest DJ.

Sounds interesting right? The show was CRAZY! Basically two designers go head to head on stage and create an outfit on a model from materials found behind them. It's no holds barred. Bubble wrap, outdoor lighting, cutting their own clothes off to incorporate into the design - everyone was shocked to see how far these guys would go to win.The models came out in underwear and the designers got to work using the time allotted. The audience watches the outfit get put together piece by piece. It was really interesting and WILD at the same time. I took some pictures so you can see what final looks walked the runway.

In the middle of the show, we headed over to the Stoli Vanilla Room to take a break and met up with some nice people from the Soho Journal. who were also covering the event. I asked for their card as I wanted to check out their site this morning and gave them mine in return. Here is what happened next:

Them: Oh, you write for INO? I love that site.

Me: No, I am INO.

Them: This is your site?

Me: Yes

Them: OMG! Dlisted links to you and I love your site!

I should offer up Michael my first born child because whenever someone knows of my site and I happen to meet them, they always throw his name in too. ALWAYS. It's happened on the three different occasions where someone actually heard of INO. So that was good fun. We chatted about blogging for a while which I have no problem doing. I could literally talk about blogs all day.

Fast forward a few hours and now it's just me and my cousin sitting in the room. All of a sudden security comes running in, attacks a guy who manages to squirm free and run out of the VIP area (but not before spilling all the drinks on his way out). We were SHOCKED. So the next 20 minutes became "WHAT WAS THAT? WHAT HAPPENED?" After he was arrested, the bodyguards came back and told us he was doing coke in the corner and going through some people's bags.

That's when I realized that I was too old for the party and my time out had ended.  If you have the opportunity to check out Style Wars, be sure to do so. It's really a funky new way of looking at design.
