I'm a "Trans-Atlantan," which means I'm one of the many people living in Atlanta who wasn't born and raised here. I'm originally from the Midwest (Detroit, Mi), and have spent my life bouncing between the Midwest (Detroit, Ann Arbor) and the Southeast (Atlanta; Williamsburg, VA; Durham, NC). I studied clinical psychology and then did my postgraduate training working with traumatized children and adults with trauma histories. Although I hope to return to working in trauma, I now focus on helping people realize their potential as a life coach (as opposed to treating pathology as a therapist).

I'm Not Obsessed With...: Sephora Vanilla Cupcake Body Collection (forget the more expensive stuff- take a bubble bath in this and put the body butter on afterwards, and nothing is as bad as it was before), Shoes (flats, pumps, high heels, boots- as long as they're cute, you can't have too many), Poker (Hold'em, Omaha, Stud, even Razz!), Chocolate, Jeans (you know how hard it is to find a good pair, and this fall I found some!)

Favorite Books: I'm a picky reader and haven't liked a lot of what I've picked up lately, so my list is rather dated!, Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella (for a great laugh), The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison (for deep thinking), Misery, by Stephen King (for a good scare), Harry Potter series, by J.K. Rowling (for a great escape)

Favorite Movies: Rachel's Getting Married, The Dark Knight, Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?, Wall-E, The Wizard of Oz

Favorite Music: Beyonce, Kanye West, Chicago's Greatest Hits, The Police's Greatest Hits, Anything else I downloaded onto my iPod

Favorite Designers: Why torture myself?

Biggest Splurge: A Liz Claiborne black leather jacket when I was a broke grad student.

Celebrity Crush: Ooohhh, I'll have to plead the fifth on this one!
